A society free of violence against women, educated in equality and respectful with fundamental rights is possible. The eradication of this problem is the responsibility of society as a whole, is a problem that affects everybody and, therefore, remains a priority to find and implement effective solutions.
This fourth edition, focuses on the impact that the use of ICTs have on gender violence. New technologies have transformed our everyday reality. Internet and social networks have introduced a new paradigm in our society, and in this context, the use of ICT in different fields such as education, health, police, etc.., has emerged as a great tool to establish prevention strategies and appropriate and effective intervention.
Faced with the potentialities of ICTs, and almost the same time, we begin to become familiar with terms such as telematics crimes, identity theft in the networks, grooming (child molestation), cyberbullying (the use of telematic means to exercise psychological harassment among equals), or sex-torsion (blackmail or harassment to which a person is subjected by another that uses an image of the same with sexually charged and previously obtained legitimately or illegitimately).
The misuse of digital tools leads us to face new risks on which we must be alert.
With the Fourth Congress we reflect on this current reality in a constructive and realistic to find solutions with a strong nature anticipatory, to correct this misuse and prevent its consequences, to minimize risks.
