Commemoration of the 29th Ibero-American Exposition in Seville
In the next year 2014 will mark 85 years of the celebration of the 29th Ibero-American Exhibition in Seville, and the centenary of the María Luisa Park. To commemorate these anniversaries the City Goverment prepares some events and activities.
It will begin with a concert in the Plaza de España, where the Symphonic Band will retrieve the hymn that was created for Expo 29, will be allowed to enter the pavilions both sevillians and tourists, revealing both its past and its use now; it can get on a hot air balloon, like the German zeppelin which at that time was flying the skies of Seville; will be a tour of a replica train popularly known as "Lilliput", which visitors strolled through the park and exposure at that time; be exposed to the public: objects, images, memories, and some fairground attractions from old amusement park which was situated between the avenues of La Palmera and La Raza.
This initiative will cast a look back in time to relive a glorious era nostalgically of Seville, and to value the entire historical legacy making it known to the people of Seville and the rest of the world.
