The decline of the gods in Seville
The Theater of the Maestranza in Seville will host on 14, 17 and 20 June, the opera The decline of the gods, by Richard Wagner.
The operatic work of Richard Wagner The Ring of Nibelungen, composed of The Rhine Gold, The Valkyrie, Sigfrid and The decline of the gods, is considered the most complex and lengthy project operatic of the history of this genre. Precisely one of those great operas, The decline of the gods, comes to Seville during the month of June.
It is an opera composed of a prologue and three acts. It is a kind of summary of the overall cycle, to end with the idea that it is not possible to make the utopia proposal; abuse of power leads to hate of the people and vice versa.
Carlus Padrissa is responsible for the spectacular scenography, full of fantasy and magic of this co-production of the Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia and the Maggio Musicale Florentino.
