Lotty Rosenfeld’s exhibition in Seville
The Andalusian Centre of Contemporary Art (CAAC) has for the first time in Spain the retrospective exhibition by Chilean artist Lotty Rosenfeld, entitled "Towards a poetics of rebellion", which can be seen, many works of a period covering over thirty years.
A pioneer of video installations, Rosenfeld is declared as active opposition of the dictatorship of General Pinochet and founder and collective member of well known CADA -art collective actions-.
The exhibition curated by visual art expert Berta Sichel, is the largest ever made in Europe. Within the exhibition, shows her outstanding curiously and intervention known "A mile of crosses on the pavement", this work has been carried out in different and distant spaces between them, opposite the Palacio de la Moneda in Chile, in front of the White House in Washington, in the Revolution Square in Havana, Cuba and the Berlin Wall in Germany, and as is evident here in Seville, with the help of ten students from the Faculty of Fine Arts in the city.
The works displayed in this exhibition have been done over time, from 1973 until 2013, throughout the 16 years of dictatorship who lived her native Chile, was able to compile large amount of material to create an art that transcended the limits of her repressive reality.
Rosenfeld shows to the audience with her presentation the opposition that she feels for all situations that violate the human rights, whether they are general orders issued under cruel or certain maneuvers, often difficult to distinguish, by the market economy.
Until Sunday July 21 of the year, will remain open in Seville the exposure of Lotty Rosenfeld, a great opportunity to see the world and life which develops through the lens of video cameras under a very particular perspective, since the collection is of sufficient notoriety and shows the circumstances they live in a country where dictatorship is atrocious, promotes chaos and the abuse of human rights.
The CAAC Andalusian Contemporary Art Center, is located at the Monastery of La Cartuja de Santa María de las Cuevas; Avenue de los descubrimientos no number at the island of La Cartuja. Schedules are flexible and is only closed on Mondays, Tuesday to Saturday from 11-21 pm and Sundays from 11 to 15 hours. The affordable prices for all budgets, with only the visit to the exhibition costs 1.80 euros and 3.01 including a visit to the monument. Free admission Tuesday through Friday from 19-21 pm and Saturday from 11-21 hours.
