Seville April Fair 2014
After an intense debate between the Local Government and the Hospitality Industry, it was decided unanimously to hold the April Fair 2.014 in the month of May.
The Fair will begin on May 5, leaving two weeks between Easter and Feria, as usual. Although part of the hospitality industry was inclined to leave only one week between the end of Holy Week and the start of the fair, so as to coincide with the May 1 long-weekend, thinking perhaps that in this way there is more influx.
However, hoteliers, most supporters of the two-week interval between a holiday and another, think the last option would be a loss of business, as the May 1 long-weekend is a pretty tourist inflow date itself. This will have three important dates and issues for the sector to have a more fruitful spring, instead of two, if the Fair overlapped with the May 1 holiday.
Finally convinced over this last argument, and the only drawback I find in all this is that the "Feria de Abril" will not be held in the month of April as its name suggests but in "Mayo" (May).
