Seville City Council is preparing for next year a whole fortnight of flamenco to cover the absence of the Biennale in 2015.
In 1978 an annual flamenco festival was created in Seville called Fortnight of Flamenco and Andalusian Music, disappeared in 1984 and leading to the Flamenco Biennale, held every two years.

The proposal of the Mayor of Seville, Juan Ignacio Zoido, would be to hold a flamenco festival each year to our city to enjoy this great event, when the Biennale of Flamenco is not celebrated.
According to preliminary data collected in the last Biennale, it has achieved tremendous success and a great economic impact on the city. With this proposal the city government aims to make Seville a global benchmark for the world of flamenco. Is scheduled to be held Flamenco Fortnight in September 2015.
