Easter week
Undoubtedly Easter is lived in a very special way in Seville. It is a religious holiday where for a week, from Sunday to Sunday, the downtown streets are filled with visitors and locals to witness the passage of processions from evening until dawn. In 2015 will begin on March 29 (Palm Sunday) ending on 5 April (Easter Sunday).
These processions of different brotherhoods depicting scenes of the life of Jesus from his entry into Jerusalem until his death and resurrection, and in addition to images of the Virgin. They are accompanied by people dressed as nazarenos, and music bands in most cases. Every day procession of 4-13 brotherhoods, being Good Friday the day when more processions leave, throughout the dawn until noon, known as La Madrugá, and then from afternoon to evening.
