Seville the world capital of the tapa
Once more Seville the world capital of tha tapa is celebrated. In this second edition, about 130 catering establishments in Seville and province participated until December 9 in the second edition of the competition following with the promotion of local gastronomy.
Many establishments in the whole city participate in the contest with the elaboration of a tapa which will be judged by popular voting as well as a very prestigious professional jury in the final.
As a novelty in this second edition there is a free mobile app from which the consumer can participate, to have information on the event, to comment on the different tapas, to make mentions of the establishments and to participate in sweepstakes. The event is a contest of tapas open to the public both Seville and its province as foreign audiences that visit the participating establishments.
After the success of last edition, the celebration has been extended to the whole province of Seville and there are new technological tools to facilitate participation and monitoring of the event by citizens who can try the tapas with a drink for 2.50 euros.
In the previous edition was generated a volume of business of more than 63.000 euros and the establishments served more than 25,000 tapas. This year the competition will try to overcome these figures.
The three categories of tapas presented are "More Sevillian", "Gourmet" and "Flavors of the province." The score will be between 0 and 10 and the prizes will be given to the three best tapas in each category.
