It will take place from 03rd to 13rd May in the 'Plaza Nueva' of Seville with Ireland as guest country.

On Thursday, 3rd May, the XXXXI edition of the traditional Book Fair begins in Seville, an event that brings another year in the Plaza Nueva to important firms, stands and numerous cultural activities for the whole family.

The Seville Book Fair will be dedicated this year to women and the world of books, under the slogan 'Women of Letters Take'. With this, it is intended to highlight the importance of the role of women in the book sector.

The writer Almudena Grandes, who has participated in most editions with presentations and signatures of all her works, will be in charge of delivering the inaugural lecture of this edition of the Book Fair. It has also confirmed the presence of numerous writers of interest to all types of readers such as Fernando Aramburu, Manuel Vicent, Espido Freire, Javier Goma, Care Santos, among many others.

In addition, Ireland will be the guest country with the presence of the novelist Lisa McInerney and a tribute to the consecrated writer Edna O'Brien. Lisa McInerney is one of the best known writers of those who are writing right now in Ireland and has won the Baileys Award for the best novel written by a woman in 2016. Edna O'Brien is considered one of the great contemporary Irish writers and one of the most read in Spain for its good translations.

As always, the Fair will also host many activities for children and young people and will continue with its successful program of school visits. This year there will also be: two round tables that will talk about numerous authors and moments of Irish literature, an Irish party and a storyteller.
