The Magic Flute in Seville.
On February 12, 14, 16 and 18, 2017 at 8:30 p.m., the opera "The magic flute" by Wolfgang A. Mozart on Johann Emanuel Schikaneder's libretto is performed at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville.
The work, which was premiered in Vienna on 30 september 1791 at the Freihaus-Theater auf der Wieden, consists of two acts. It is a model of German opera of magical character called 'singspiel, in which are intercalated spoken parts. It was the last work released in life of the composer. It expresses values as a criticism in a work loaded with great masonic symbolism, a lodge to which Mozart belonged.
The Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville and the Choir of the Association of Friends of the ‘Teatro de la Maestranza’ will participate.
Tickets can be purchased online, from Wednesday, November 2 throught www.generaltickets.com or at the box office starting Monday, January 16 at Paseo de Cristóbal Colón, 22, from 10.00 to 14.00 and from 17.30 to 20.30.
