Solidary guided tours in Seville 2013
From November 16th the solidary guided tours in Seville 2013 are beginning. Normally, a city tour accompanied by official guides is a proposal for leisure. But it also can be a way to help the most deprived persons. This is an initiative of the official guides of the city, in collaboration with the Tourism Consortium and the Patronage of the Royal Alcazar, who are committed to offer free tours for tourists with a solidary end.
The donations collected by official guides, € 5, € 10 or any amount is valid, will be destined to an association or NGO. The Food Bank of Seville will be the first recipient of this initiative with the donations that are collected at the weekend, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th.
The visits will be every weekend in 2013. The approximate duration of the visit is two hours. The departure is from Jerez Gate at 10.30 am. The route is a walk through the historical center and visit the Royal Alcazar who collaborate with the initiative offering free tickets. When the tour ends, the guides will answer the questions of the visitors.
The main objective of this initiative is to discover Seville to visitors and thereby to help people with greater economic difficulties. Guides also want to protest against the intrusiveness that their profession has suffered in recent times.
