XXXIII Old Music Festival in Seville, FEMAS 2016

 

 

 The Old Music Festival Sevilla (FEMAS) presents its 33rd edition, to be held from February 26 to March 19 under the theme "Passion".
 

 The official program of this new edition consists of 29 concerts, composed this year by other musical styles and other arts such as dance, theater or painting. Along with the well established appointment Expo-FEMAS, this year the festival presents Sacer / The Martyrdom of things, a major exhibition directed by Pedro G. Romero rereading a contemporary tone theme of the Passion. Ministriles Hispalensis be in charge of announcing the arrival of FEMAS city with concerts in Sevilla markets in pre-opening weeks.

 The Old Music Festival in Seville invite the public, in the words of its director, to enjoy "not only divine passions, but also human, of all times and class, from the bare simplicity of Obrecht Scarlatti Baroque, through the great Sevillian Francisco Guerrero and concluding, as a happy ending, with the splendid oratorio by Handel dedicated to La Resurrezione ". The concerts will start on February 26 in the space Turina concert of Italian training Accademia Bizantina, under the direction of Ottavio Dantone, which will close at the Teatro de la Maestranza in the hands of the Baroque Orchestra of Sevilla, with Enrico Onofri forward.

 

 Passion will also be the axis around which turn the exposure Sacer / The Martyrdom of the things that will host the Space Santa Clara from March 3 to May 29. This exhibition shows how the historical avant addressed the issue of the sacred in relation to Sevilla.
