The Golden Tower of Seville
Without doubt one of the most famous tourist attractions of our city, is known Golden Tower on the banks of the Guadalquivir River.
This monument, insignia of our monumental Seville, dates back to 1220 AD under the orders of Abu l-Almohad ambassador Ulà, is located exactly on Avenida Paseo de Colón also very close to the famous Puerta Jerez.
The basis of this structure is dodecagonal, and blocked the way to the Arenal area through a section of wall which joined the Silver Tower and part of the walls of the Andalusian capital defending the Real Alcazar of the city.
This unique and valuable heritage relic, was declared a historical and artistic monument in 1931 and currently in its interior, is the Naval Museum which houses Seville models, prints, navigational instruments, marine charts and historical curiosities.
The Golden Tower is open from Tuesday to Friday from 9:30 to 13:30 and Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 to 13:30. The price for visitors is from 2.00 euros and is completely free Tuesdays.
Due to its location in the historic center of Seville, our boutique hotel is very close to the Torre del Oro, see our offers.
